The Deputy Head of Research at the Electoral Commission (EC), Fred Tetteh, has reassured eligible voters who have lost their voter cards that they will still be able to vote.

He explained that such individuals can visit their registered polling station and notify the EC’s verification officer of their situation. Once their identity is successfully verified through the EC’s system, they will be allowed to vote.
Tetteh emphasized that the EC’s comprehensive voter records ensure a seamless process, preventing any eligible voter from being disenfranchised. This clarification aims to address public concerns ahead of the election.
Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show on Citi FM with Bernard Avle, on December 7, Mr Tetteh said, “However, if a voter cannot find his/her voter card on this day, you don’t need to worry, just walk into the polling station, provided you are sure it is your polling station.
“Whether you have the card or you don’t have the card, all that is needed is your fingerprints, your face. Just show up your face and your fingers and that is enough.”
