The Electoral Commission (EC) has paused the re-collation of parliamentary results for several constituencies at the National Police Training School in Tesano, Accra, due to escalating disagreements between political parties.

The exercise, initiated earlier this week to address discrepancies in results, was halted to allow further consultations with the parties involved.
Despite heightened security measures provided by the Police on December 12, 2024, tensions between the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) disrupted the process.
The disputes primarily stem from concerns over the accuracy of electoral results, with the NDC alleging discrepancies in the pink sheets from certain constituencies.
The NPP also expressed frustration over the handling of the process and the time taken to resolve these issues.
As a result of the impasse, the EC decided to halt the re-collation temporarily, stating that further engagements with all political parties were necessary to ensure transparency and fairness.
The process was meant to resolve issues in constituencies such as Suhum, Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Fanteakwa North, and Akwatia in the Eastern Region, which had been plagued by disputes over the initial results.
The EC has promised to resume the collation once the parties reach an agreement and the necessary clarifications are made. Until then, the re-collation process remains on hold, with the EC seeking to restore order and confidence in the electoral process.
