The Electoral Commission has scheduled a meeting with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Friday, September 6, to discuss issues related to discrepancies in the voter register.

This meeting comes in response to concerns raised by the NDC, including allegations of improper voter transfers that could potentially affect the integrity of the upcoming elections.

Dr. Rashid Tanko Computer, the NDC’s Deputy Director of Elections and IT, told Citi News that the voter register cannot be deemed reliable until the Electoral Commission addresses the concerns raised by stakeholders.

“I can confirm that in a letter they have written to us confirming that we can have a meeting with them on Friday, September 6, 2024, to have a thorough discussion over the discrepancies that we have identified in the registers given to us.

“We wrote to them requesting such a meeting and they have agreed to the meeting. It is not an IPAC meeting, it is a meeting between us. The meeting should be able to address the discrepancies that we have identified. That is what we are looking for,” he stated
