With just weeks remaining until the 2024 general elections on December 7, the Electoral Commission (EC) has revealed the certified voter register, confirming that 18,774,159 Ghanaians are eligible to vote.

The final voter list includes special provisions and adjustments for recently closed polling stations. The eligible voters are categorized as follows:
- Biometrically Registered Voters: 18,640,811 voters who will be verified using biometric systems on election day.
- Special Voters: 131,478 individuals, including security personnel, media, and EC officials, who will vote early due to their election-day duties.
- Voters without Biometric Data: 1,870 voters whose biometric data was corrupted and will require manual verification.
In line with logistical evaluations, the EC has closed several polling stations that either did not meet the minimum voter threshold or were closed based on community requests. Affected voters have been reassigned to nearby stations.
“Since no Register was generated for these closed polling stations, no Absent Voters list was created for them, resulting in 884 voters excluded from the Absent Voters List,” the EC’s statement clarified.
“Their records, including details of their movement, are securely maintained within the Voter Management System, ensuring full accountability.”
