The Electoral Commission is set to appear before Parliament today, July 19, to provide an update on preparations for the December 7 general elections.

This session responds to members’ requests to evaluate the electoral management body’s readiness for the 2024 polls.
Andrew Asiamah Amoako, the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, announced this during proceedings on Thursday, July 18.
“We will be meeting the Electoral Commission, they are going to be here at our instance, we have invited them to come and brief us on the preparations they have made so far towards the 2024 elections.
“If you have any issue relating to the EC, just come and ask, it’s not going to be a banter, we’re going to respectfully enquire about what they are doing. So, let’s prepare and come and meet them,” the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament stated.
