The Electricity Company of Ghana Limited (ECG) has launched a major initiative to curb commercial losses by conducting a comprehensive system audit.

As part of this initiative, ECG will begin disconnecting unauthorized services and removing fake meters starting Friday, October 18, 2024.

In its statement, ECG stressed the importance of this action to maintain the integrity and reliability of the power supply.

Customers affected by the disconnections can regularize their supply by applying for new service at ECG district offices.

The company also advised customers to avoid dealing with middlemen, often referred to as “goro boys,” and to apply for services directly at the district offices.
