Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, has criticized Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s call for a pre-election debate with former President John Dramani Mahama.

Instead, Mohammed challenged Bawumia to focus on reviving the struggling economy, which he oversees as head of the economic management team.

Mohammed questioned Bawumia’s credibility and motivation for seeking a debate, suggesting he should prioritize redeeming the Cedi’s lost value and addressing the country’s economic woes.

He emphasized that Ghanaians are suffering due to the government’s inaction on soaring market prices.

The lawmaker also accused the NPP government of being the most corrupt in Ghana’s history. He urged eligible voters to reject the NPP’s promises and vote for change to rescue the country.

During the NDC’s campaign launch in Tamale, Mohammed expressed his concerns about Bawumia’s record and the government’s handling of the economy.

He argued that Bawumia should debate his own performance rather than challenging his opponent, who managed the economy effectively during his tenure.
