Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Manifesto Committee, has cautioned Ghanaians to be wary of the promises made by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Presidential Candidate.

The former Sports Minister expressed skepticism about the feasibility of Bawumia’s economic proposals, which include a flat tax rate, the abolition of the e-levy, ensuring public finance stability, and expanding road infrastructure.

Speaking in an interview on Channel One TV’s Face to Face with Umaru Sanda Amadu, Ankrah criticized Bawumia for a history of unfulfilled promises, warning that placing trust in his new pledges could be risky for the electorate.

“You believe Bawumia at your own risk and I want Ghanaians to know and recognize that it will be very dangerous for them to believe Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. Because this is somebody who has consistently made promises and has not been able to fulfil them. Together with Nana Addo [President], gave a litany of promises.”

He urged the voters to dismiss Bawumia, asserting that he would fail to fulfilb his commitments.
