Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on Ghanaians, particularly party supporters, to avoid “skirt and blouse” voting in the 2024 general elections.

He warned that certain groups and individuals within the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) are trying to convince voters to support John Dramani Mahama for president while endorsing NPP parliamentary candidates.

Speaking to residents and party sympathizers in the Eastern Region during his campaign, Asiedu Nketiah condemned these tactics and urged voters to back both John Dramani Mahama and NDC parliamentary candidates nationwide.

He noted, “Everywhere I go, I hear people say that President Mahama is secure, but they plan to vote ‘skirt and blouse.’

This is the work of the NPP, not the NDC. We in the NDC don’t wear skirts and blouses; we wear Jalabia, a one-piece cloth.”

Additionally, former Finance Minister Seth Terkper urged residents of the Krobo area to ensure that the Krobo block remains a stronghold for the NDC, emphasizing that the major infrastructural projects in the Krobo enclave were achieved under NDC governments.

He encouraged voters to support John Dramani Mahama and all NDC parliamentary candidates in the Krobo block.
