Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team has firmly stated that it will not be influenced by prophecies predicting the outcome of the December 7 general elections.

The statement comes in response to claims made by some pastors during a recent interaction with National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, predicting his victory in the 2024 polls.
Speaking to Citi News, Anthony Karbo, a senior aide to Dr. Bawumia, dismissed these assertions, describing them as mere predictions rather than divinely inspired revelations.
Karbo further stressed that the campaign is resolutely focused on its core strategy and voter engagement. “We are not allowing ourselves to be swayed by external commentary. Our focus remains on connecting with Ghanaians and articulating Dr. Bawumia’s vision for the nation,” he emphasized.
The team reaffirmed its commitment to an issue-based campaign driven by hard work, grassroots mobilization, and a clear presentation of policies.
“I find those prophecies to be predictions. I don’t understand why prophecies are prevalent in Africa. I don’t understand it. Nobody talks about prophecies in other jurisdictions like China, America, Germany, and London. Those prophecies are only in Africa.
“We saw and heard prophets who said Kamala Harris was going to win, and what happened? What would have happened if we chose to believe in them? What would have happened because people said there was no way Donald Trump would ever be president?”
