The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has claimed that members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have lost confidence in their presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

In a statement, NDC Deputy General Secretary Mustapha Gbande revealed that several NPP parliamentary candidates are reportedly campaigning ‘skirt and blouse,’ a term used to describe supporting a different party for the parliamentary vote while backing a presidential candidate from another.
Gbande expressed confidence that the NDC would secure victory in both the presidential and parliamentary elections on December 7.
“We have realised that quite a lot of NPP parliamentary candidates are telling their constituents to vote skirt and blouse. In other words, they are asking people who are even angry with the party to vote for them and then vote for John Dramani Mahama.
“I was wondering a bit, but what I have come to reconcile is that it is an indication that even the NPP parliamentary candidates across the country do not have faith and do not have trust in their leader and their flagbearer.”
