On Thursday, October 31, 2024, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), inaugurated the Mim Polyclinic in the Asunafo North constituency of the Ahafo Region.

This new healthcare facility aims to improve medical services for local residents, ensuring they have better access to quality healthcare.

During the commissioning event, Dr. Bawumia reiterated his dedication to enhancing healthcare infrastructure throughout the country.

He stressed the government’s commitment to bolstering health facilities, particularly in underserved areas, to guarantee that all Ghanaians receive proper medical care.

After the ceremony, Dr. Bawumia shared his plans to support agricultural constituencies, with a special emphasis on Asunafo South.

While addressing supporters in Sankore, he announced the launch of the District Agriculture Mechanization Center Programme, a new initiative designed to modernize farming practices in Ghana.

This program will supply farmers with essential tools and mechanized equipment, including tractors, planters, and harvesters, to boost productivity and efficiency.

Dr. Bawumia underscored the significance of agriculture to Ghana’s economy, highlighting that over 60% of Ghanaians are involved in farming and that ensuring farmers’ financial stability is crucial for national development.

“Agriculture is going to be my number one priority. Over 60% of Ghanaians are farmers, whether you are in the Northern, Southern or Eastern part of Ghana. Ghana’s growth largely depends on farmers, and they have to be financially stable.

“So I want to support farmers with the necessary logistics including technology, irrigation, and finances to help boost their agricultural businesses.

“We will continue the good works we have been doing in the cocoa sector. The DRIP project is ongoing in the various districts where roads are being constructed.

“I will also introduce the District Agriculture Mechanization Center where I will distribute farming implements in the districts including tractors, hoes, harvesters, fertilisers, chemicals and planters for farmers in every district.”
