Bernard Mornah, the flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC), has called for a forensic audit of the nomination forms submitted by all presidential candidates who have been approved to participate in the December 7 general elections.

Mornah’s demand follows his disqualification from the presidential race by the Electoral Commission (EC), a decision he is challenging in court.
The EC previously announced that Mornah, along with 10 other presidential aspirants, was disqualified due to errors on their nomination forms.
Samuel Apea-Danquah, leader of the Yellow Ghana movement, also accused the EC of dishonesty in their attempts to disqualify candidates.
The EC stated that the candidates did not rectify the issues raised during the vetting process, which made them ineligible for the elections.
The decision by the EC has led to disappointment and frustration among the disqualified candidates, many of whom view the ruling as unfair and excessively harsh.
In an interview with Citi News, Mornah expressed his dissatisfaction with how the EC managed the nomination process, reiterating that his disqualification was unwarranted.
He argued that the errors cited by the EC, as well as those of the other 10 candidates, were not serious enough to warrant their exclusion from the race, asserting that the issues could have been easily fixed and should not have led to disqualification.
“No presidential candidate submitted a CID report. I say this with the vim at my command. Myself and my running mate, we did. So that is why I am calling for a forensic audit of all the other people that the EC qualified, of their forms.
What my friends in the PPP, the difficulties they were having, I know. What my friends in the CPP, the difficulties they were having, I know. What my friends in the Movement and the New Force, I know.
“And they also know if I had any challenges and we know the specific issues. The court should tell the Electoral Commission that I am a qualified candidate for Elections 2024 and they should put me on the ballot. It is as simple as that.”
