The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has labeled the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, as a ‘second-hand president.’

In a Youth Connect programme, Dr. Bawumia stressed the importance of looking to the future and choosing a forward-thinking leader in the upcoming elections.

He contended that Mahama’s previous presidency disqualifies him from leading Ghana once more, asserting that the country needs fresh leadership to drive progress.

The Vice President underscored the need for a president who is optimistic about Ghana’s potential and possibilities, asserting that under his leadership, Ghana could become a model nation in Africa, demonstrating the power of progress.

“We are going to elect a new president in December 2024. When I say a new president, I mean a new president and not a second-hand president.

We are going to elect a president who will take us into the future, not a president who will take us back into the past.

“We are looking forward; we are not going backwards. We want a president who thinks about possibilities, not impossibilities.”

“We want Ghana to become a beacon for all African countries, and for all the world to see what can be done with possibilities.

Former President Mahama is a former president; let’s maintain him as a former president,” he stated.
