The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is projected to win a majority in Ghana’s next parliament, according to a report by research firm Global InfoAnalytics ahead of the December 7 general elections.

The analysis predicts a major shift in parliamentary representation, with the NDC expected to secure 150 seats, while the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is anticipated to win 99 seats. One seat is forecasted to go to an independent candidate.

Additionally, 29 constituencies are deemed too close to call, indicating potential tight races in those areas.

The report also anticipates a presidential victory for NDC’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, with 52.2% of the vote, placing him ahead of NPP’s candidate, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who is projected to receive 41.4% of the popular vote.

Global InfoAnalytics notes these predictions signify shifting dynamics in both parliamentary and presidential elections, reflecting growing political competition ahead of the polls.
