The People’s National Party (PNP) has announced that its presidential candidate, Janet Asana Nabla, will not contest her disqualification from the upcoming December presidential election in court.

In a statement issued on October 3, the party expressed its support for Nabla’s candidacy but acknowledged her disqualification by the Electoral Commission (EC), a decision the party disagrees with but has decided not to challenge legally.
“After consulting members nationwide, the party has resolved to let the matter go and focus on obtaining its final certification to operate as a fully-fledged political party,” the statement read.
The PNP emphasized that, beyond elections, its mission includes educating citizens on political matters, government policies, and their societal impact.
The party also committed to holding the government accountable by reviewing policies and proposing alternatives.
The PNP urged its supporters to remain steadfast as it prepares to announce its next steps ahead of the December 7, 2024, elections.
The EC disqualified Janet Nabla for failing to correct errors in her nomination form.
