Jefferson Sackey, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Ablekuma Central Constituency, has called for calm and peaceful conduct during the special voting exercise and the upcoming December 7 general elections. His appeal comes in the wake of violent incidents during the 2020 elections in the constituency, which resulted in the loss of one life.

As of the latest update, 140 out of 856 registered voters had cast their ballots in the ongoing special voting exercise.
Speaking to Citi News, Sackey urged voters to participate responsibly and peacefully, stressing the importance of ensuring a violence-free atmosphere during the elections.
“It is just a decision to take by the youth. There is no need to fight or be aggressive when somebody is voting. It is an expression of an opinion that this is the person we want to lead Ghana at this point. This is the person to lead Ablekuma Central Constituency.
“You go to the polls, cast your vote and go home. You come later to the polling station to see the counting process and at the end of the day, the EC will make a declaration on who the next president is and who the various members of Parliament are going to be in the respective constituencies.
“So, my advice to the youth is that this is a very simple process. There is no need to fight, we should all work as one people ensuring that 2024 is successful and smooth,” he stated.
