John Dramani Mahama, the presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has lambasted President Akufo-Addo for commissioning incomplete projects across the country.

Mahama claimed that the NPP’s actions are motivated by fears of losing power due to their failure to deliver on promises to Ghanaians.

Speaking at the “Enti Asanteman Aseda Ni” walk in Kumasi on December 1, Mahama accused the NPP of deceit, calling their actions “419” and pointing to the unfinished Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi as an example of such falsehoods.

He also criticized the NPP’s misleading claims about plans for an Ethiopian Airlines route from Kumasi to London, labeling it as another empty promise designed to win political support.

“Akufo-Addo is going about commissioning incomplete projects. As I speak, there is an interchange around Palace Mall I started. They abandoned the project for 4 years and only resumed it in their second term. The project is incomplete but he has commissioned it.

“The same applies to the Kumasi Airport. They can’t stop their ‘419’ activities. The other day they claimed that Ethiopian Airlines is going to operate from Kumasi to London. It turns out it was the airline’s plane that was chattered by somebody and not the company coming to operate there.

“They were trying to deceive the Ashanti Region because of the elections”, he said.
