Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has challenged President Akufo-Addo’s claim that his administration has constructed 12,000 kilometers of roads across Ghana.

Mahama dismissed this claim, suggesting that if it were accurate, it would amount to a road extending from Ghana to Japan.

Speaking at a rally in Nkoranza North in the Bono Region, Mahama cautioned Ghanaians not to expect any significant development initiatives from the NPP government in the remaining three months before the elections.

He criticized the current administration’s infrastructure record and urged voters to critically assess their promises.

“It has been eight years since they’ve been in office. We have about three months to vote. This is all they could do, there is nothing new to add. So, anyone who is expectant of anything new to happen will be disappointed.

“It is worrisome that the president said since he got into office, he has been able to construct 12,000 kilometres of roads. The 12, 000 kilometres is likened to journing from Ghana to Japan by plane.

“If it is true that he has been able to construct roads of the stated kilometres, we want to ask him as people of the Nkoranza North, where is our share of that road? The few roads you have here are what the NDC did before leaving office.

If indeed you constructed the roads as you are saying, at least we would have a small share of the roads here in Nkoranza North but up to date, we have not seen anything,” he stated.
