At its National Executive Council meeting, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has unanimously endorsed Andrew Amoako Asiamah, the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, as its parliamentary candidate for the Fomena constituency in the 2024 elections.

Andrew Amoako Asiamah, who resigned from the NPP in October 2020 to run as an independent candidate, won the Fomena seat and subsequently became the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament.

On September 12, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi), announced the NEC’s decision to the leadership of the Fomena constituency.

He expressed the party’s gratitude for Asiamah’s support even while serving as an independent MP and expressed confidence that the Fomena seat will return to the NPP with him as the candidate.

A visibly pleased Asiamah responded by expressing his deep connection to the party and commitment to leading the NPP to a decisive victory in the constituency.

He urged party members to focus on ongoing projects and work together to secure votes.

During his constituency tour, Chairman Wontumi visited communities including Adokwai, Dompoase, and Old Edubiase, encouraging constituents to support the NPP in the December 7 elections.
