Patrick Yaw Boamah, the Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, has dismissed as false a viral video circulating on X (formerly Twitter) that claims he has endorsed John Mahama, the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The video, shared on November 28, 2024, by user Political Warden (khkayy27), suggests Mr. Boamah is encouraging voters to support him for MP while voting for Mahama, a practice known as “skirt and blouse” voting.
In a statement on November 29, Boamah refuted the allegations, labeling the video as an AI-generated fabrication with a manipulated voiceover. He urged Ghanaians to ignore the video, calling it a deliberate attempt to spread malicious propaganda and damage his reputation.
“Please disregard this false AI-generated content (video content) and propaganda published on social media which is levelled against me,” he said in the statement.
