Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the NDC Member of Parliament for North Tongu, has alleged that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is distributing funds to supporters in the Asawase Constituency in an effort to influence voters ahead of the December 7 general elections.

Speaking to party supporters at the “Asawase Walk for Victory” on Sunday, October 27, Ablakwa expressed confidence that Ghanaians would still vote against the NPP, despite these alleged attempts to sway them.
“I have seen firsthand that Muntaka’s slogan is true – it’s love, not money, that will win the day. I believe what happened in Assin North will happen here in Asawase.
We’ve heard that money is being given out to Asawase constituents; take it and spend it. But I know that, come December, you’ll vote against the NPP. We’ve all witnessed the development in this region.”
Ablakwa also criticized the NPP’s vice-presidential candidate, Matthew Opoku Prempeh, calling him a “disaster” and accusing him of supporting policies that conflict with Ghanaian values, specifically mentioning the introduction of Comprehensive Sexuality Education, which he claims promotes LGBTQ+ ideologies.
“I agree with our general secretary that, we loan them a running mate. This running mate is a disaster, a national disaster, an international disaster, a monumental disaster. A running mate who introduced Comprehensive Sexuality Education in Ghana. He went to a UNESCO conference to defend that, they had introduced a new curriculum to educate our children on LGBTQ+”
