The Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, is confident that the NPP will win the upcoming December elections.
He criticized the opposition NDC, saying they are mistakenly confident they have already won. He believes they are living in a fantasy and will be surprised.

Speaking at the introduction of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the NPP’s running mate, Boateng told Channel One News that the NDC’s confidence in winning the 2024 polls is premature.
“We are just starting our campaign. There’s a long time until the elections. No party has won yet. I hear the NDC thinks they’ve already won; they haven’t. People haven’t voted yet. When they do, we will present and defend our policies.
“The NDC is dreaming; they have this idea they’ve already won. They think they’re the only ones voting. We are voting too, and they will be surprised,” he said.
The NPP will officially introduce Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, known as “NAPO,” as the running mate to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the 2024 general elections today, July 9, 2024.
The announcement will happen at Kumasi Jubilee Park in the Ashanti Region, a stronghold of the party.
Key figures within the NPP, including President Akufo-Addo, the Council of Elders, Members of Parliament, and other notable members, are expected to attend.
