Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minority Leader, praised the remarkable performance of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 general elections.

In his remarks at the opening of Parliament on December 16, Dr. Forson referred to the December elections as a revolution against the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) poor governance.

He emphasized that the election results were a direct response to a government that frequently dismissed opposing views as “detractors, cynics, naysayers, Sanbalat, and Tobias.”

“Mr. Speaker, the events of December 7 were nothing short of a revolution—a people’s revolution! It was a rebellion against a government that was stubborn, insensitive, authoritarian, and dismissive of public opinion,” he declared.

“It was a revolt against a government that called people with dissenting views names such as detractors, cynics, naysayers, Sanbalat and Tobias”

The Minority Leader stated that the NPP has been punished for its poor governance, economic mismanagement, obstinacy, greed, state capture, corruption, and arrogance of power.

“Ghanaians have clearly shown that they cannot be taken for granted and that when it matters the most, they will either reward those in government or punish them for their sins.

“Mr Speaker, it is obvious that the NPP has been punished for its poor governance, economic mismanagement, obstinacy, greed, state capture, corruption, arrogance of power, impunity, disrespect, lawlessness and persecution of its political opponents.”

He conveyed his gratitude to the people of Ghana for their substantial support of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the elections.

Additionally, he extended his best wishes to the Members of Parliament who were not re-elected, hoping for success in their future pursuits.
