The Electoral Commission is optimistic that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will reconsider and resume discussions about the voter register.

Previously, the EC had rejected the NDC’s request for a forensic audit of the register, leading the party to announce intentions for a nationwide demonstration.

In an interview with Channel One News, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bossman Asare assured that the commission is well-prepared to address and correct any errors found in the register.

“We think that is something they should be able to listen to. So far we haven’t heard anything, but we think that the NDC is committed to ensuring that we have a credible register.

“The EC is committed, the NPP is committed, PPP, all the parties are committed. So we think this is a great call we think should be heeded to because it’s for the good of our country.

“It’s a country we are building and we are only the referees to ensure that we have a system that is credible,” he stated.
