The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has pledged to resist any efforts by political parties to undermine the outcome of the 2024 General Elections.
The party emphasized that while it is prepared to respect the will of the people and step down if voted out, it will not tolerate any party that adopts a “my way or the highway” approach to the election.

This position was conveyed by the NPP’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua, during a discussion on preventing electoral violence.
“However, we will not also be coerced into submitting that one political party is so desperate that if they win, there will be mayhem in the country, therefore, we should hand over power to them, no! For that one, I will say over and over again that we are going to an election.
“The will of the people will prevail and when the will of the people prevails that the NPP must continue, no political party can subvert the sovereign rule of the people and we will stand and defend the rule of law and the peace in this country,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Peace Council has called on political parties to condemn attacks on the council if they expect it to openly address the misconduct of various political actors.
Maulvi Mohammed Bin Sallah, the chairman of the committee responsible for monitoring the code of conduct against vigilantism, stated that if political parties want the council to publicly criticize their actions consistently, they must ensure their followers refrain from attacking members of the Peace Council who speak out.
