The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has pledged to strongly oppose any illegal tactics used by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the December 7 elections.

This comes in response to Bryan Acheampong, the MP for Abetifi and Minister of Agriculture, who implied that the NPP might use any means necessary to win.
Mustapha Gbande, Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, stated that the party is committed to detecting and addressing any threats to Ghana’s democratic process and will firmly defend the integrity of the elections.
“We will not burn the sea and I can assure Bryan Acheampong that the nonsense that they [his government] showed Ghanaians in 2020, a repetition of the same will make people like himself victims of their schemes. Ghana will not die. Ghana will stay strong. Ghana will stay united.
“But we will fish out hoodlums and hot-headed people like Bryan Acheampong who are a danger and a threat to our democracy.
I can give him that assurance that an inch of an attempt to do what is unlawful will be fiercely resisted and the persons who will be engaged will be singled out and dealt with.
“It doesn’t matter what it takes for us to do that. That will be done.”
