Joyce Bawah Mogtari, spokesperson for former President John Dramani Mahama, has emphasized that the upcoming election centers around the people of Ghana, rather than solely the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

She stated that Mahama has pledged to investigate all instances of corruption associated with the Akufo-Addo administration and hold the responsible officials accountable.
As the December 7 election approaches, Mogtari highlighted critical issues the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will avoid discussing, including serious allegations of corruption and financial mismanagement under President Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia. She criticized their audacity to disparage members of the NDC amidst these allegations.
Mogtari remarked, “Given the unprecedented hardship, poverty, and unemployment levels, consider how these substantial funds could have been used to benefit the people of Ghana. This election is about them. Mahama is committed to investigating, prosecuting, and recovering all misappropriated funds and assets through O.R.A.L.”
She pointed out various financial controversies, including $58 million spent on the National Cathedral, questionable contracts awarded to companies linked to the president’s family, and the mismanagement of funds found in the home of former Minister Cecilia Dapaah.
Mogtari also called on Dr. Bawumia to respond to approximately 170 questions he previously posed to former Vice President Amissah Arthur in 2016, which she believes are now even more pertinent. She noted the $11.9 million spent on the Pwalugu Dam with no visible results.
