The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) has taken swift action to rectify errors in its infographics, which aimed to keep the public informed about the Limited Voter Registration Exercise.

The EC acknowledged a mistake in which the Greater Accra Region figures were incorrectly repeated for the Upper East Region, apologizing for the error.

In a statement on its official Facebook page, the EC explained, “We have corrected the slide on Challenge cases, which previously showed an incorrect figure for Upper East. All other slides remain accurate. We have also implemented new measures to prevent similar errors in the future.”

This correction comes after Dr. Omane Boamah, Director of Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), highlighted the inaccuracies in the EC’s graphs for Greater Accra and Upper East Regions, describing it as an “elementary error.”

The EC has since met with its infographics team, made significant changes, and instituted more rigorous methods to ensure the accuracy of its data.
