The Electoral Commission of Ghana has taken swift action in response to a viral video allegedly showing election malpractice at the Fumesua Pentecost Church polling station during the Ejisu Constituency by-election on April 30, 2024.
The video, which has sparked widespread concern, appears to show an individual placing an envelope on the table of the presiding officer and ballot issuer.

In a statement released on April 30, 2024, the Electoral Commission, signed by Samuel Tettey, Deputy Chairman of Operations, confirmed the incident and announced the immediate removal of the two temporary staff involved, pending a thorough investigation.
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to upholding integrity, truth, and transparency, and assured the public that any actions compromising its credibility would not be tolerated.
The statement identified the affected polling station as Fumesua Pentecost Church Polling Station (F311503) and described the incident, emphasizing that prompt measures have been taken to address the issue.
The Commission promised a comprehensive report on the incident soon.
Meanwhile, the Ejisu Constituency by-election continues, with six candidates contesting the open seat.
