Dr. Omane Boamah, the NDC Director of Elections, has serious doubts about the Electoral Commission’s voter register, calling it “sick and unfit for purpose.”

He questions the accuracy of the register, which the EC says has 18,681,366 voters, and is demanding a clear and detailed audit.
In a Facebook post, Dr. Boamah urged NDC agents and officials to carefully watch the Electoral Commission’s mop-up voter registration from August 1 to 3, 2024, to ensure it is done properly.
The registration drive aims to add 50,000 to 70,000 new voters across 268 district offices, 26 public universities, and 41 prison centers.
He stressed the need for close monitoring because of unresolved issues with the registration numbers and the troubling fact that stolen Biometric Voter Registration laptops are still missing, which could affect the fairness of the election.
“Accordingly, we urge NDC agents and political actors across the country to be extra vigilant throughout the three-day registration period.
“This call for heightened vigilance from the high echelons of our great party is necessary because the current voters register, which the EC states has 18,681,366 voters, is not fit for purpose! The voters register is sick.
“Additionally, NDC agents must be extra vigilant because there are still stolen and un-retrieved Biometric Voter Registration laptops in the hands of criminals.”
