Mr Sampson Tetteh Kpankpah, the District Chief Executive of Ada West, has debunked allegations that floods that occurred in parts of Ada on Wednesday were caused by Electrochem Ghana’s operations.

He said the affected communities, including Sonkope, Wokumagbe and Akplabanya were not in the domain of the company’s concession.

The DCE said the company was supporting the Assembly to dredge canals and create new water paths to facilitate free flow of water.

Madam Gladys Akwetey, a victim and resident of Wokumagbe, said although the community had been experiencing recurrent flooding, the volume of water that ran into the community and the intensity was very high and scary.

She commended the Assembly and Electrochem Ghana for their swift intervention to prevent further disaster, which could result in the whole community submerging.
