Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has urged Ghanaians to prioritize peace and security as the nation prepares for the December 2024 elections.

Speaking to constituents in Winneba, Afenyo-Markin emphasized the need for tolerance and restraint throughout the election period, calling on citizens to refrain from actions that could destabilize the country.

He also appealed to political parties, their supporters, and all relevant stakeholders to collaborate in protecting Ghana’s standing as a shining example of democracy in Africa.

“December 7 will come and go. But your relationship with your friend is important. We, the political class, at the level of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, President Akufo-Addo, the former president who is the candidate for the opposition party, down to us, the parliamentarians, we are friends. We are not enemies. Don’t get us wrong.”
