The Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah (Mrs.), has called on women leaders to make their health a top priority by regularly undergoing medical screenings.

COP Tiwaa emphasized that women should not wait until they fall ill before seeking health checkups, as early detection is crucial for maintaining overall well-being.

She stressed the importance of regular health screenings to ensure long-term vitality, pointing out that good health is essential for sustained energy, focus, and resilience in both professional and personal life.

Her remarks were made during the Women’s Leadership Development Course, organized by the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Centre and the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).

COP Tiwaa urged participants to be mindful of their diet as part of a proactive approach to health management.

The two-week event, which concludes on November 15, 2024, has gathered women leaders from security services and NGOs across Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia, Gambia, and Sierra Leone.

The course is designed to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to overcome challenges in their respective sectors, fostering collaboration and innovative thinking.

The Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Centre has been a key player in promoting gender equality in leadership within the peace and security sectors across West Africa.

Through its leadership development initiatives, the center aims to bolster regional stability and security by empowering women in leadership roles.
