The Ghana Library Authority has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving the country’s educational sector through the construction of more libraries.

Hayford Siaw, the Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, emphasized the government’s focus on promoting learning nationwide.

In an interview with Citi News after the groundbreaking ceremony for a new library at Asofan in the Ga North Municipality, Mr. Siaw highlighted the importance of equipping public libraries to support free education initiatives, stressing that the government is dedicated to ensuring these facilities are properly resourced.

“A library is the university for all and so it is exciting for us that we can bring our services to the doorstep of the people living in Ghana. This is an established priority for the government, that the government wants to promote learning, and we want to promote free education for the people of Ghana.

“For free education to be successful, there is a need to equip our public libraries so that they can be accessible to the Ghanaian people. I believe that you know, Ghanaians will have confidence and faith in Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s social policies for education.”
