Ernest Agbesi, a former Managing Director of GCB Bank and National Investment Bank (NIB), has vowed to campaign tirelessly for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the northern regions until they regain the nine parliamentary seats lost in the 2020 elections.

He believes the party’s defeat in these constituencies was due to unresolved issues and is determined to win back the seats.
Agbesi has been actively engaging with the communities, providing support such as motorbikes to facilitate their campaigns.
He emphasized the significance of motorbikes in reaching remote polling stations and communities, citing the 2020 elections as an example where the lack of motorbikes hindered their campaign efforts.
The nine constituencies he is focusing on are Zabzugu, Chereponi, Gushegu, Bimbilla, Wulensi, Karaga, Yendi, Tatale, and Mion/Sang, which are currently represented by New Patriotic Party (NPP) MPs. Agbesi is convinced that with the right support and resources, the NDC can regain these seats and return to power.
In an interview with GhanaWeb, Agbesi stated, “The people in these constituencies are ready for the NDC to return to power and I vow not to rest until I win back all the 9 northern orphan seats for NDC.”
He believes that addressing the basic needs of the communities, such as transportation, will be a game-changer in the 2024 elections.
