England secured their place in the Euro 2024 final with a dramatic last-minute goal from substitute Ollie Watkins, securing a 2-1 victory over the Netherlands in a tense semi-final.

Gareth Southgate’s team appeared headed for extra time after Harry Kane’s penalty equalized Xavi Simon’s early goal for the Dutch.

However, Watkins, who came on for Kane late in the match, delivered a spectacular strike to propel England into their second consecutive European Championship final.

This upcoming match will be historic, marking England’s third meeting with Spain at the Euros. Interestingly, England emerged victorious in both their previous encounters (1980 group stage and 1996 knockout stage).

However, Spain poses a formidable challenge, aiming to rewrite history themselves. They boast an undefeated record in the tournament, winning all six games outright without needing penalties.

They lead the scoring charts with an impressive 13 goals. Spain is also on a mission to become the first nation to win the Euros four times, having secured victories in 1964, 2008, and 2012.

The stage is set for an epic showdown between these two European powerhouses.
