Sara Anyango Obama, who is known as the grandmother of former world leader and U.S. President, Barack Obama, has died at the age of 99.
As gathered by GhanaTalksRadio, her demise was made known by her daughter, Marsat Obama, who affirmed that her mother passed on at 4.45AM on Monday, March 29, 2021, at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital, Kisumu.
Prior to her death, she was rushed to the said hospital on Sunday morning, after suffering some illness which eventually took her life within 24 hours.
The family has made it known that her funeral will take place today (Monday) without further delay, at the Muslim Cemetery in Kisumu.
A relative said “We are trying to see whether we shall be able to bury her today and if not, we shall bury her tomorrow.”
