Fatawu Issahaku made a notable Premier League debut, providing an assist as Leicester City secured a 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester, newly promoted to the Premier League, faced a challenging first half with Tottenham dominating and taking the lead through Pedro Porro.

Although Spurs continued to control the game early in the second half, Leicester equalized when Jamie Vardy, initially ruled out but later declared fit, scored a goal from a precise cross delivered by Issahaku.

Vardy’s goal energized Leicester, and he nearly scored a second. However, Rodrigo Bentancur’s concussion disrupted Leicester’s momentum, allowing Tottenham to regain control. Richarlison, a substitute for Spurs, had a chance to secure a win but missed with a header.

Leicester managed to secure a valuable point, with Fatawu Issahaku making a strong impression on his Premier League debut.

The Ghanaian international, who had excelled in the Championship, carried his form into the top flight with notable maturity.

His performance, including a crucial sliding tackle as Spurs pressed for a winner, earned him praise from Leicester fans.

Issahaku’s debut was exceptional, validating Leicester’s decision to offer him a permanent contract.

His match statistics were impressive: 54 touches, 14 completed passes, 12 ground duels won, six tackles won, five clearances, three fouls won, two key passes, one big chance created, and one assist.

He will aim to build on this performance in future games.
