The father of Edward Borketey Sackey, the 18-year-old O’Reilly Senior High School student who was fatally stabbed, is calling for justice and accountability from both the school authorities and the police.

The tragic incident, which occurred during a violent altercation between Edward and another student, has shocked the community.

In an interview with 3News, Edward’s father shared that he had sent his son off to school before heading to work. He later received a troubling call from his niece about a dispute involving Edward.

Concerned about the lack of teacher intervention, he learned from his niece that the teachers were not taking action.

“I decided to go to the school. On my way, my niece called again to say that Edward’s opponent had stabbed him. He was lying on the school grounds, bleeding, while the teachers remained indifferent,” he recounted.

When he arrived at the scene, he received another call saying that Edward had been taken to LEKMA Hospital.

At the hospital, he was devastated to find out that his son had died from three stab wounds to the chest.

“The doctor confirmed Edward had passed away from three stab wounds to his chest,” he said.

Edward’s father expressed his frustration with the lack of communication from the school and the police.

He noted that neither the school nor the alleged perpetrator’s family had contacted him.

“Since yesterday, the school authorities and police have not reached out.

Even the family of the boy who killed my son hasn’t contacted me. We are here seeking justice for my son,” he lamented.

He is calling for a thorough investigation and explanations from the school authorities regarding the incident.

He also criticized the police for blocking the school gates, preventing concerned individuals from entering.

“We want justice and we want the school authority to explain to us. Either the teachers are not at the school and it happened or they are there and it happened…They have brought policemen to block every gate stopping us from going in…So that is why we are here,” he stated.
