The Ministry of Finance is set to disburse around $11 million to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to aid in the completion of its Know Your Customer (KYC) project.
This funding is intended to enhance ECG’s operational efficiency and improve revenue collection.
This announcement was made in a statement from the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
The statement emphasized that the KYC project’s completion is anticipated to raise ECG’s monthly revenue collection to GH¢1.4 billion, thereby strengthening the revenue base for the sector’s overall distribution.
