A fire broke out in the Job 600 building in Parliament on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. The blaze damaged a storeroom, but the exact cause of the fire is still unknown.

Investigations are underway to determine the source of the fire and assess the extent of the damage.
Thick smoke was seen coming from several offices as personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service worked to extinguish the flames.
Staff and workers were quickly evacuated to designated assembly points while emergency services addressed the situation and began their investigation.
The Greater Accra Regional Commander of the Ghana Fire Service, ACFO 1 Roberta Aggrey Ghanson, informed Citi News that her team is working to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to other areas.
She also confirmed that no casualties have been reported, and the situation is now under control.
The Job 600 building, which was commissioned by President Akufo-Addo in November 2020, serves as an annex to the Chamber of Parliament.
Constructed as part of the Parliament House Physical Infrastructure Enhancement Project, the building is designed to address the longstanding infrastructure gaps faced by Parliament over the years.
