The Forestry Commission depot at Achimota in Accra was reportedly broken into by unidentified individuals early this morning, who made away with several valuable items.

Sources claim the intruders, allegedly wearing National Democratic Congress (NDC) branded shirts and chanting political slogans, stole 24 air conditioners, laptops, and other essential equipment. They also attempted to seize keys to newly acquired vehicles but failed.

The incident has heightened concerns about the security of state properties during political transitions following the 2024 elections. Authorities are yet to confirm if the break-in is politically motivated.

The police were quickly alerted and arrived at the scene to restore order.

They have since secured the area and launched an investigation into the theft.

Investigations are ongoing, and the authorities are working to track down those responsible for the break-in.

The Forestry Commission has not yet commented publicly on the incident, but further updates are expected as the investigation unfolds.
