Kamaldeen Sulemana, Rennes’ attacker, has joined the Black Stars ahead of Sunday’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
After missing the Doha training camp, Sulemana was reunited with his teammates at Yaounde on Saturday night.
Reports claim that Sulemana was taken into custody in France following the positive test for coronavirus by Alfred Gomis, Senegal’s goalkeeper.
Sulemana is believed to have been in close contact with Gomis thus preventing him from joining the Black Stars of Qatar.
The Ghanaian and Gomis were both cleared to travel Saturday. Both have now joined their respective countries in preparation for the tournament.
Sulemana joins 25 others players already in Cameroon, with two other players, Kudus Mohammed and Philemon Bafuor expected to join later.
The ex-Nordsjaelland FC winger who made six appearances for Ghana in October 2020 will be wearing the number 22 shirt at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
He is expected to be in the starting line-up against Morocco when Ghana face their first match on Monday.
