Fully vaccinated travellers do not need to take or pay for PCR Test – Akufo-Addo

In a major relief to travellers and a boost to the tourism sector, fully vaccinated passengers arriving major airports in across Ghana will not require PCR tests prior to departing their country of origin. Furthermore, fully vaccinated travellers would not have to pay $150 for test upon arrival at Kotoka International Airport (KIA).

This is following President Akufo Addo corona virus update 28. The statement reads: “From tomorrow, Monday, 28th March, full vaccinated travellers into Ghana will not take PCR tests from the country of embarkation to all them entry into the country through KIA, and will not be tested on arrival“.

DEFINITION OF FULLY VACCINATED

A person is said to be fully vaccinated when he/she has taken the full dose of vaccines approved and registered by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), Ghana. You need two (2) doses of AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna or Sputnik V to be declared as fully vaccinated. One dose is required for Johnson and Johnson to be declared fully vaccinated.
