Frank Annoh-Dompreh, Majority Chief Whip and MP for Nsawam-Adoagyir, has claimed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was more responsible for polluting Ghana’s water bodies than the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

This statement emerged amidst ongoing discussions about illegal mining, or galamsey, which has been severely affecting the country’s water resources.

During an emergency parliamentary session in Accra on Tuesday, Mr. Annoh-Dompreh expressed his satisfaction with the Minority Leader’s challenge to debate the issue and identify the responsible parties.

“In fact, we are ready to debate now. If we are to look and investigate both sides of the house.”

“You have had the opportunity to rule this country before. I can tell you, you polluted the water more than us. You polluted the water more than us. So let’s get matters straight.”
