Several hundred protesters have staged a march in the western Polish city of Poznań in memory of George Floyd, an African American who died in police custody in the US city of Minneapolis last week.
The organisers of the Polish march said the event aimed to oppose hatred, violence and abuse of power as well as “racism and fascism.”

Participants, most of them dressed in black, gathered at a square in downtown Poznań after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Poland’s PAP news agency reported.
Some of them held placards and banners reading “Black Lives Matter” and “I Can’t Breathe,” according to the news agency.
The protesters then marched through the city centre in silence past sites including the local US consulate.

Some of them lay on the ground in a symbolic gesture to protest the manner in which George Floyd died, the organisers said on social media.
Police took no action and there were “no reports of any incidents or detentions,” the PAP news agency reported, citing a spokesman.
Floyd, a 46-year-old African American, died in police custody in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on May 25.
A video released after his death showed a police officer kneeling on Floyd’s neck as the detained man repeatedly pleaded for air saying he could not breathe.
