The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has charged Sammy Anim Addo, CEO of Young Apostles, with misconduct following his recent social media outburst regarding officiating in the Ghana Premier League.

Anim Addo, a former Executive Council member, accused referee Maxwell Hanson of being the GFA’s “man for dirty works” in response to Accra Lions’ complaints about Hanson’s performance during their 1-0 loss to Dreams FC.

He also alleged that the GFA had threatened to ensure the relegation of his team, Young Apostles, after he voiced concerns about the standard of officiating in the league.

The GFA’s Disciplinary Committee issued a statement declaring that Anim Addo’s comments on X (formerly Twitter) violated the code of conduct, damaging the league’s reputation.

Anim Addo has until Monday, January 13, 2024, to officially respond to the charges.
