Ghana coach Otto Addo and his assistants escaped unharmed after being involved in a serious road accident.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed the incident on Sunday, following reports that Addo, along with John Paintsil and Fatau Dauda, had been in the accident.
The coaching trio was returning from Tarkwa, where they had observed the Champion of Champions match between Samartex and Nsoatreman, with Samartex securing a 1-0 victory in the season opener.
Unfortunately, on their way back to Accra, the former Dortmund assistant coach and his team encountered a serious road accident.
According to the GFA’s statement, the Black Stars technical team’s vehicle narrowly avoided a head-on collision with a pickup truck that had veered into their lane, causing some damage to their vehicle.
“We are happy to report that all three members of the technical team are in stable condition and will undergo further medical assessments, as a precautionary measure, upon their return to Accra,” the statement read.
Despite the incident, the trio is anticipated to be available for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Ghana is scheduled to face Angola in Kumasi on Thursday, September 5, before heading to Morocco for their second match against Niger.
The GFA added, “We are confident that the technical team will be in good shape and ready to lead the Black Stars in the upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
We appreciate the concern shown by the public and ask for your continued support and prayers as we prepare for these important matches.”
