Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has stated that no betting company has been authorized to offer odds on Ghana Premier League (GPL) matches.

He announced that the GFA’s legal team will soon engage with betting companies that continue to include GPL matches in their offerings, underscoring the association’s commitment to tackling match-fixing concerns.
Okraku highlighted the seriousness of this issue, pointing out that last season’s suspicious match scorelines led several betting companies to remove GPL games from their platforms.
“We have not licensed any betting company to take odds on our games. We are going to empower our legal department to confront this issue head-on.
It is not okay for betting companies to feed on our football,” Okraku said during the 30th Ordinary Congress in Prampram.
He added, “It is time to say no to such companies. We are open to doing it the legal way. We will invite companies who want to partner with us to speak to us.”
Okraku reiterated that GPL matches should not be included in betting markets, emphasizing that no betting company has received approval to do so.
Under his administration, the GFA has taken a firm stance against match-fixing, demonstrated by the demotion of Inter Allies and the indefinite suspension of AshantiGold for match manipulation.
The Congress also marked the countdown to the new season, set to begin on September 6.
